The second opinion occupational physician:
- Re-examines the employee.
- Discusses the findings with the employee.
- Provides advice to the employee’s first/primary occupational physician in a report. This report is only sent to the first/primary occupational physician with the employee’s consent. (Blocking option)
The second opinion company doctor may not:
- Be a direct colleague of the first/primary company doctor.
- Work for the same organisation.
- Have other relationships with the first/primary company doctor that could be considered compliance issues.
